To setup Chrome with all your DH bookmarks and saved passwords at home:
BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE OFFICE:
- Open Chrome on your work computer.
- Click on the grey circle with your first initial in the upper right corner.
- If it says “Sync in On” (see below), then you’re good!
- If it says “Sync is Off”, click on those words to turn sync on. You will get a warning that Google will serve you ads based on your bookmarks. Click OK, or Yes or whatever to accept those terms.
When you’re at home:
- Open Chrome.
- Click on the circular icon in the upper left (see above for examples of what that looks like).
- Look for your danahall.org account under the “Other people” section of the menu. If it’s there, click it to load your bookmarks and passwords.
- If it’s not there, click the “Add” option.
- It will ask you to name this profile – give it a name that makes sense for you to differentiate it from your personal gmail account if applicable.
NOTE: I also recommend clicking the “add desktop icon for this user” box to make it easy to open later. - Another Chrome window will open. Click the “Already a Chrome user? Sign in” link (see below).
- Use your danahall.org email and email password to log in.
- It may take a bit for everything to sync and download, but your bookmarks and everything should appear as they do at work.
- From there, you can switch back and forth between your personal and work profiles on Chrome by clicking the circular icon in the upper right corner.
- When you are logged in as your danahall.org profile, typing “gmail.com” or “drive.google.com” will take you straight to your work email and Google Drive accounts.
To access the Shared drive:
- Open Chrome.
- Go to https://vdi.danahall.org (I recommend you bookmark this link for future use)
- Log in with your danahall.org email and email password.
- Click on this icon:
- A virtual desktop will open in your browser window. From here you can access the Shared drive and all the documents therein.
- Please keep in mind that you are working on a virtual desktop on the Dana Hall servers and NOT your home computer’s desktop. I recommend saving everything to the Shared (R:) drive so that you can easily access your work when you get back to the office.
To access Raiser’s Edge database view:
- Open Chrome.
- Download and install the Citrix Online Plugin for Windows or Mac, depending on your home computer: https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/
- Go here to log in: https://login2.blackbaudhosting.com/vpn/index.html
NOTE: If you are logged into your danahall.org account on Chrome, your saved passwords will appear! - After logging in, you may be prompted to detect Citrix Receiver. Click “Detect Receiver,” then click “Cancel” in the pop-up window, then click the “Already installed” link below the Download button.
To access Raiser’s Edge NXT:
- Open Chrome.
- Go to https://renxt.blackbaud.com
- Click “Sign in with Google”
- Select your danahall.org email address
