Follow the steps below to create a copy of your Canvas course. There is a second video that shows how to copy over only specific materials.
We suggest labeling some copies as “Master Course” for when you are creating an unshared archive of your Canvas Materials. There are no enrollments for these types of courses. The purpose of this is to create a sandbox course that you can edit freely. You can import this data later; see this video on how to “Import Course Content”.
You can also create a “Copy” of your course to be shared with others as well. It’s recommended that you give it a unique name so you can find it quickly.
The second video will show you how to select materials without having to import the entire course. This method is great when you want to import materials like rubrics or course settings.
